2023-24 Preschool Registration (Desert Meadows, Estrella Foothills, Paseo Pointe, Vista del Sur)

The Laveen Elementary School District offers four full-day preschool programs at select campuses within the district.

Preschool registration for the 2023-24 school year will begin on March 1. Employees and families with returning preschoolers or students currently on our waitlist are eligible for early registration beginning on February 7.

All registrations must be completed at the Kids Club office, located at Desert Meadows (6855 W. Meadows Loop East). Please call the Kids Club office 602-237-7058 or email kidsclub@laveeneld.org to schedule an appointment to present required documentation. Please review program details below prior to enrolling. Priority enrollment will be given to four and five-year-olds. Three-year-olds may register after June 5, 2023. Children must be at least three years of age at the time of registration.

Preschool for Children with Special Needs

The district’s developmental preschool for children with special needs operates on the campus of Laveen Elementary School.

Additional Preschool Programs

Dual Language Immersion Preschool-Paseo Pointe

Paseo Pointe School offers a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) preschool. In the Dual Language Immersion program students receive instruction in two languages. Paseo follows a 50/50 model in which participating students spend half of their day in a classroom where teaching and learning are done in English, while the other half of the day is done in Spanish. Students participating in the DLI preschool will continue with the immersion program as they transition through the grade levels at Paseo.

General Education Preschool-Desert Meadows (Computer Coding), Estrella Foothills, and Vista del Sur

Desert Meadows, Estrella Foothills,  and Vista del Sur offer a general education preschool in which instruction is provided solely in English. Desert Meadows’ signature program is computer science and preschoolers will be introduced to computer coding. This will build a foundation that will better prepare them for elementary school.

Requirements

Preschool is open to children that are four and five years old. Three-year-olds may be accepted depending on available space. Children must be potty-trained prior to enrolling.

Preschool is available to families living within the Laveen School District. Children residing outside of the district boundaries may also attend as long as space permits.

Hours of Operation

Extended care (Kids Club) is available before and after school for an additional fee.

Camps are available during school breaks (fall, winter, spring, summer) when school is not in session.

Curriculum

Laveen’s preschool program is academics – based. Certified teachers lead instructional lessons.

The Campus

Laveen’s preschools are separated from the rest of the school campus. The preschool has its own secure gate and playground area. Students have lunch in the cafeteria and snacks within the preschool classroom. Preschoolers that participate in before and after school care are also separated from the rest of the school population.

Fees

Preschool programs are tuition-based. Tuition for 2020-21 as follows: Payments may be made via our secure online portal.

Registration

Registration for tuition-based preschool programs must be completed at the Kids Club office which is located at Desert Meadows School. Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
