Employment Benefits

The Laveen Elementary School District offers an excellent variety of benefits in order to meet the needs of our employees and their families.  We provide all eligible employees with the option to enroll in medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and to purchase additional life insurance above the District paid life insurance amount of $30,000.

District Paid Benefits

Laveen Elementary School District pays the full cost of Basic Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance.

Medical Coverage

Laveen Elementary School District offers eligible employees two medical plan options through United Healthcare. The options include the district-paid (for employees only) PPO plan as well as a High Deductible Health Savings Plan.

Dental Coverage

Laveen Elementary School District offers eligible employees two dental plan options through Delta Dental and United Healthcare.

Vision Coverage

Laveen Elementary School District offers eligible employees a vision care insurance plan through Avesis Vision Plan.

Voluntary Life Insurance

Through Securian, employees may purchase additional life insurance coverage.

Voluntary Short Term Disability

Through Symetra, employees may purchase short term disability coverage.

Flexible Savings Accounts

Laveen employees may participate in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), which enables employees to save federal, state and Social Security (FICA) taxes on the money you use to pay for eligible expenses. The tax savings will increase employees’ take-home pay.

  • Flex Spending Healthcare Reimbursement Account:  Through a Healthcare Reimbursement Account an employee can pay for eligible healthcare expenses.
  • Flex Spending Dependent Care Reimbursement Account: Through a Dependent Care Reimbursement Account, an employee can pay for eligible dependent care.
