Community Partnerships
The Laveen Elementary School District is committed to ensuring positive school/ community relationships. Laveen strongly believes that quality schools are at the heart of a thriving community and community support is essential for the success of its schools. We accomplish this through:
Hosting Activities and Events
The Laveen District hosts one community festival each year in the winter. This festival features student entertainment, activities for the whole family, vendors, food, and more. Laveen schools also participate in a number of events to give back to their neighborhood. These include neighborhood cleanups and fundraisers to support local causes.
Partnering with Community Organizations
Laveen partners with a number of local organizations to give back to the Laveen community. Some of our partners include:
The Laveen Education Foundation: providing scholarships for eighth-grade Laveen students entering high school as well as former Laveen students entering a post-secondary educational institution.
The Laveen Lions Club: providing annual vision and hearing testing to Laveen students, conducting an annual food and penny drive to support their holiday basket program, conducting the Flags for First Graders history program, organizing an annual backpack drive, and moderating an annual Peace Poster contest.
The Laveen Community Action Committee: created to engage Laveen stakeholders and implement community-based solutions, this committee has elected officials, educational institutions, nonprofit, and faith-based organizations committed to serving with the LCAC.
The Laveen Community Council: made up of a number of local member groups, the LCC hosts the annual Laveen Community BBQ occurring for over 65 years.
Arizona SciTech Chief Science Officers serve as STEM ambassadors and promote STEM programs in our schools.
Partnering with Local Businesses
Through grants and sponsorships local businesses can contribute to the support of our schools. Please visit the Laveen Education Foundation’s website for information on grant opportunities.
