Closed Campuses

The safety and well-being of our students is of the utmost importance for us at Laveen. We are always looking for ways in which we can make our campus a safer place for our children.

Beginning in the 2018-19 school year all Laveen campuses will be closed in the mornings before the school day. Only students and visitors who have formally checked in through the office will be permitted to enter our campuses. Staff members will be stationed at the entry gates checking students for their ID.

Parents and guardians must check in with the front office, as required during the school day, and obtain a visitor badge in exchange for their driver’s license or other legal identification. Visitors must check out in the office as well. This makes our offices aware of who is on our campuses at all times.

Families are welcome to join their child for breakfast in the cafeteria, but must secure a visitor pass prior to entering.

This action is not the result of a specific situation, but rather a response to suggestions from across the Laveen district on ways to make our campuses more secure.
