Laveen’s Child Nutrition Department has resumed distributing free meals to all children under the age of 18.
Breakfast and lunch will be distributed together each day, Monday – Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at four Laveen school sites: M.C. Cash, Trailside Pointe, Rogers Ranch, and Paseo Pointe. Laveen students who are attending school on-site receive the meals as part of the school day.
The meals will be served curbside or walk-up. Children must be present to receive meals. There are no income requirements and no need to register. Children do not need to be enrolled in a Laveen school to receive a meal.
For your safety and convenience, parents or guardians picking up meals on behalf of children in their care will be asked to complete and display a placard provided on your first day of meal service.
The continuation of the free meals for children program was made possible through a waiver by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Laveen Elementary School District’s Child Nutrition Services Department may only serve one meal bundle, per child, per day. Measures are in place to ensure this federal requirement is met and we appreciate the community’s cooperation in adhering to this policy. The unlawful sale or exchange of meals or components of meals is not permitted. Laveen Child Nutrition Services reserves the right to deny service to children and families that do not comply with the federal requirements of the Summer Food Service Program and all applicable waivers.
